Kenwood KMix: Hand-Mixer Heaven

Everyone knows I'm a really big Kenwood fan! My kitchen is littered with shiny red Kenwood gadgets that make my kitchen life a whole lot easier. The KMix hand-blender is no exception  though small it's brilliant. When I got this hand mixer I won't lie, I wasn't too sure how much I'd use it, or how much I really needed. Now I really can't do without out it, primarily because it's small, easy to grab and simple to clean because the beaters can be thrown into the dishwasher.

Price: €74.95
Remember to always look around in terms of price. I got this mixer from Amazon as that's where I found the best price at the time, but prices are constantly changing. If your buying it in a store, don't be afraid to ask for a discount. If you don't ask you won't get! Although the mixer is retailing at €74.95 in shops etc. I actually managed to get it for €60 on Amazon (bargain queen that I am!).

The 'Specs'
5 speeds with a pulse button
350w motor
Stainless Steel Twin Beaters (dishwasher safe)
Stainless Steel Twin Kneaders (dishwasher safe)
Easy Grip
Stand
Cord Storage

What do I use it for?
I use this little mixer for all sorts. From the basics like whipping cream and beating eggs to mixing cakes, doughs, brownies and icing. The 350W motor means this mixer is powerful enough for  most quick mixing tasks. I have this on my counter top which means it's easy to grab and I use it all the time. Once finished, I push the eject button, remove the beaters and toss them into the dishwasher....so simple. It saves me a lot of time and energy beating and whipping things by hand (and saves my tendinitis prone wrist too!).

Criticisms
My only quibble about this beautiful piece of kitchen gadgetry is the weight. For a hand mixer, at 1.5kg, this mixer is heavy enough. It's weightiness does make it feel significantly more substantial than flimsy hand mixers I have had in the past but if whisking for a long period of time, your arm can get a little tired.

Recommend to a friend?
Most definitely  it's a great piece of equipment for both the cooking novice or hard-core enthusiast as it can be used for so many different things. It's easy to clean, easy to use, has dishwasher safe components, but most importantly looks great.

  2. I have the very same one and I love it's beautiful red colour. I'm very happy with it and use it mostly for whipping egg whites and cream. I nearly burnt the motor out a few weeks ago trying to make marshmallows - not recommended!

  3. I don't have a mixer cause my place has limited storage but this color is so pretty I'd buy it just for that!
